Ecopsychology Training, June 3, 2024
The 2023-2024 COBHC trainee cohort concluded their time with us in June 2024, following nine months filled with diverse training and educational experiences.
Our 2nd cohort of behavioral health trainees were onboarded and started logging their time with the consortium in September of 2023. We were excited about the growth of this second year of our program and graduated 40 trainees in June 2024. (A 51% increase in participation from the first year!)
This year we were able to use our funding to invite graduates from the 22-23 cohort to join a 2nd year of consortium programs; 15 of those trainees said “Yes!” to another year.
Established in a variety of internships and associateships throughout Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook counties, our trainees worked hard to juggle school/work and the cohort offerings – and brought their knowledge and expertise up to the next level. All trainees were awarded a monthly stipend for completing the required monthly hours of training & education.
Seen in the photo above, the cohort attended our quarterly training event “Ecopsychology: Integrating Climate and Walking Therapy; An Experiential Introduction”, which was followed by our final training opportunity, “BH-101” led by Greg Lamont and Chris Untiedt from Juniper Mountain Counseling. In addition, this group of trainees were given entrance to three other quarterly trainings: “Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD”, “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis” and “The Intersection of Psilocybin Services and Oregon Therapists”. In addition, these trainees were asked to complete self-selected, self-paced didactic trainings, which included Case Consultation and Journal Club groups.
Overall, our two cohorts combined (a total of 63 trainees) have completed some impressive training hours, here’s a quick breakdown:
- Quarterly Trainings (4): 1982 combined hours of education/training
- BH 101 Training: 507 hours of education/training
